We can’t tell you who our special guest headliner is but we can tell you he isn’t from the UK, tours in his own right and TV appearances include Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. Definitely not to be missed!
Carey Marx mixes dark humour with mischeivious and gleeful delivery. His willful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places.
Carey performed at the New Zealand Comedy Festival for the first time in 2010 scooping the award for Best International Show and won it again in 2011 making him the only act in the history of the festival to achieve such a feat.
“Underrated and for the most part criminally overlooked.” The Herald “Excellent.” The Guardian
“Hilariously demented” Edinburgh Evening News “Unbelievably Funny.” The Scotsman
Alun Cochrane is a no-nonsense comedian who specialises in funny nonsense. Much of his comedy begins simply as something he’s seen, heard or felt in his own life, or in the street, or the kitchen, or anywhere and from that it blossoms into a highly amusing anecdote or a strange flight of fancy.
TV includes Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Soccer A.M, Live At The Comedy Store and he’s often seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week. He can be heard on Frank Skinner’s Absolute Radio Show every Saturday morning from 8am and regularly on Radio 4 with credits including The Now Show, Just A Minute, Dilemma, Loose Ends, and Lee Mack And Friends.
“Rarely have such random musings been elevated to this level of hilarious artistry.” The Scotsman
“By the end of the show, some people in the audience literally can’t stop laughing.” The Independent
Your middle act for the evening is Howard Walker. £7.50 online, paper tickets from the venue from 8th January, or you can pay on the door if we have tickets left.
